Crossword Puzzles
I like crossword puzzles mainly because of the satisfaction when you get a letter in each square! Sometimes, the last two, I make the best educated guess I can if it's like a foreign food (I eat chicken and potatoes so I'm limited on those) crossed with a name of someone I've never heard of. The Sunday crosswords are the most fun but there are only few that I've completed. I used to love doing the DTH crossword in class which made my professors think I wasn't listening but actually- when I have something to occupy my mind minimally- I have better concentration. What blows my mind though is how people write crosswords. I remember when we used to have to make crosswords for projects you would make the ones that only cross at one, maybe two places but for these people to have every letter belong to two words. I'm impressed.

KIVA
Kiva.org is awesome. The idea is, you give loans to people of your choice- you can narrow it down by country, by gender or sector. You can see how much of their requested loan they've received- it's really fun to give someone the last $25 dollars they need. They use this money to either start a business or to buy raw materials to use in their business. Then, they pay it back! The money they pay back is divided by how many people contributed and it's added back to your account so that eventually, you can make another loan. I got a friend a gift card for their birthday and the part that people had paid back was subtracted from the gift card. So the two people I've donated to are Frank and Nyamvula. Frank is a farmer from Peru and Nyamvula operates a charcoal sales business. They both got their loans are both in the process of paying them back.
Charlotte York
I really enjoy Sex and the City as a whole but most of all, I love Charlotte York. I feel like when I was in middle school I would get those chain emails that asked you to answer all these questions about yourself and they were so fun but one of the questions was "What TV character is most like you." I wasn't watching Sex and the City in middle school so I said Angelica from Rugrats but if I were to answer that question now, I would say Charlotte York. By far the ... I don't want to use the word conservative because that certainly doesn't describe me but... her goal in life is to be a wife and mother, check; if I had to pick the one character that looked the most like me it would be her (only because of the hair); she's the only one in the group that believes in love and she loves her friends. Also, she gets uncomfortable listening to people talk about their sexual encounters (ya know, the premise of the show) which was very similar to me until I joined Cadence.
Toms
These are my favorite pairs of shoes. I was organizing my shoes... basically putting them back in pairs so I don't have to shuffle through a bunch to find a match and Matt was helping me. We counted 31 pairs of shoes and the bad part is those were the pairs I brought with me to North Carolina because I just knew I would need them while being up here. I need to automatically throw the ones in Florida away because if I didn't wear them up here I think I can survive without them. Anyways, Toms shoes are awesome. It's really cool that for every pair you buy, they send a pair to children in need of shoes. Lots of people mention clean water and food on the table as things we take for granted but what about shoes! My husband likes to tell me I have baby feet because I can't walk anywhere outside without hurting myself if I'm not wearing my shoes (I insist on doing it sometimes anyway) but the point is- I would really struggle without shoes so I'm grateful that they're so accessible.
Nip/Tuck
I love this show as well. Netflix is providing me with plenty of addictions. I like Nip/Tuck because the stories are super interesting like the time these gangsters were forcing Sean and Christian to take out breast implants filled with... heroin? Like they had them at gunpoint and it was super scary but it was a choice between letting these men abuse women like that or having their families killed. But they won in the end because when the one guy that was on the most wanted list wanted Sean and Christian to give him a new face, they gave him the face of someone who was higher up on the most wanted list so he was put away after all. Each episode has an interesting dilemma that makes you think and the surgeries they show make you never want to have any form of surgery so that's cool too. Also, every time the hand twitches in the intro it gets me. Every time.
Target Boyfriend Pocket Tees
Oh my goodness, I love these t-shirts. They're pretty much all I wear. One of these, a pair of jeans and my toms and I'm good to go. Oh, I also have a baby blue one and a white one. So that's red, two shades of green, two shades of blue, two shades of pink, purple, black, white and grey. Kind of sad.
